Enter The Duck Pond
Welcome! From here you can access my collection of movies, TV shows, audiobooks and ebooks. Click any of the links below to access, or click "Get Started" below to set up an account.
Step 1: Create a Plex Account
Plex is the application used to watch movies and TV shows hosted on The Duck Pond. It is completely free.
Already have a Plex account? You're one step ahead! Feel free to click "Next Step" below. Otherwise, click the button below to register a free account in a new tab.
Plex Registration
Register with your email, Google, Apple, or Facebook account. Keep your username/email handy for the next step.
💡 Important Notes:
- No Plex Pass Needed: Plex may suggest you upgrade to a paid "Plex Pass" subscription. This is not needed. I have the Plex Pass on the server, so if you are watching from my server you will not need to pay anything.
- Ad-Free Streaming: We highly recommend disabling Plex's built-in online media sources. This helps remove other content that may be free, but is hosted by Plex, and will contain ads. My server will never have ads. We'll show you exactly how to do this in Step 3.
Step 2: Request Library Access
Enter your details below to request your invitation to The Duck Pond. The server administrator will review your request and send an email invite.
Step 3: Setup & Optimization Guide
To avoid buffering and ensure you see only the library content, please configure these settings on your Plex account.
Force Original Streaming Quality
By default, Plex limits remote streaming to 720p (2 Mbps). This forces our server to transcode the video (converting it on the fly), resulting in pixelated video and heavy server load. Changing this settings fixes 99% of buffering issues.
Disable Free Plex Services
Plex displays a lot of its own free ad-supported content (Movies, Shows, Live TV, Discover) in your menu sidebar. To keep your sidebar clean and ensure you only see The Duck Pond libraries, we suggest disabling them.
Use a Dedicated Streaming Device
It is widely known that Plex struggles on built-in smart TV apps (such as Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, or older TV apps). While it will work, it frequently encounters buffering or format compatibility issues. For the smoothest experience, we highly recommend installing Plex on a dedicated TV streaming device.
Step 4: Request Content
Can't find a specific movie or series? You can request it yourself using our dedicated media manager.
Seerr Media Requests
Seerr is connected directly to our library scanner. Log in using your Plex account credentials to search for movies or shows and click "Request". Once approved, the server downloads it automatically and notifies you!
Visit the Seerr portal at:
Go to Seerr ↗Step 5: Audiobooks & Podcasts
